We are pleased to announce the launch of a new collaborative project called Podcasts Made Simple!
My colleague Jama St.John of Strategic Virtual Solutions and I partnered on the creation of this how-to product. As you may know, I serve on Jama’s multi-VA team as the audio and video specialist, editing audios and producing Jama’s weekly Strategic Business Building podcast. We realized that there were many entrepreneurs (and virtual assistants – VAs – who support entrepreneurs) who are interested in pursuing this marketing avenue, but weren’t quite sure where to start.
A podcast according to Wikipedia is, “a digital medium consisting of an episodic series of audio, video, radio, PDF, or ePub files subscribed to and downloaded through web syndication or streamed online to a computer or mobile device.” This means that podcasts can be delivered via blog, website, and/or podcast directory. Many folks, myself included, listen to podcasts while exercising or commuting. There are podcasts about every subject imaginable. The iTunes podcast directory alone has over 250,000 free podcasts for you to discover and download.
Your competitors are podcasting – why aren’t you? Your competitors are reaching out to new clients on a consistent and regular basis with episodes about their expertise. They realize that in order to get in front of their market, they need to produce audio content that is easily consumable and which builds a following and community.
Did you know you can create a podcast by using just the equipment found on your computer right now?
